Viaqua joins the University of Vigo to promote R + D + i in the field of water management and treatment

Julio Masid, CEO of Viaqua and Manuel Reigosa, President of the University of Vigo, signed a collaboration agreement this morning between the two institutions. The objective of the agreement is to launch initiatives aimed at the promotion and promotion of water management and treatment in the teaching and research field. The initiative is part of the specialization project of the Ourense campus as Water Campus.

Viaqua is committed to the execution of research and development projects and programs to be carried out between research groups of the Water Campus and this company. It also undertakes to provide advice and to offer internships for the students of the last courses of the degrees taught at the Ourense-Campus del Agua campus in the field of water management and treatment.

During the agreement, which lasts two years, Viaqua will participate in academic conferences and events of the Water Campus and will promote technical visits to the facilities of the integral water cycle so that the students of the campus have direct knowledge of the processes related to this cycle. The agreement also states that "in order to stimulate the promotion of research, transfer, educational innovation and scientific dissemination related to the strategic engine of specialization of the Water Campus, Viaqua will award in 2019 and 2020 awards for an amount of 3600 euros per year "

After the signing of the agreement, Manuel Reigosa, highlighted how, having his team "as an important objective to public-private collaboration", the academic institution seeks initiatives such as this "mix with partners that can make contributions to achieve the highest levels of quality in our work ".

For his part, Julio Masid also stressed that "public-private collaboration can only improve the work of companies and universities and we will try to be there as much as possible because it is good for everyone and for society in general."
