A consortium of Galician companies, consisting of small, medium-sized and large businesses, have come together with the aim of developing an integrated solution for real-time monitoring of drinking water, thereby ensuring the efficient management and protection of such a vital resource.

The TRIHSENS project has a total budget of 878,533.30 euros and is headed by Viaqua. The other members of the consortium are the companies Syspro Ingeniería S.L., Ayco Internet S.L. and Roca Roibás S.A.U. The consortium will also be joined by the research centres AIMEN and Cetaqua Galicia.

This project, part of the Conecta Peme 2018 programme, is supported by the Galician Government through the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) and the Department of the Economy, Enterprise and Industry, and co-funded by the ERDF in the context of priority 1 of the Galicia ERDF 2014-2020 operational programme.

The novel system developed by the project will be validated at the Tambre drinking water treatment plant, owned by the Santiago City Council.

TRIHSENS is geared towards the innovation levels established by new European policy directives, which promote a change from a reactive to a preventative management approach.
